Ghost Ship S.O.S. and the station of Chiron

Late late Thursday night I gave up trying to finish writing some thoughts on the Chiron Station. Tomorrow’s another day, I said to myself. It was, for this astrologer anyway.

Friday morning at 7:23am I published the piece, a few miles  from Oakland’s Fruitvale neighborhood where Ghost Ship would morph into a deadly inferno for dozens of young creatives later that day.

Today I reviewed that S.O.S. post hoping to take away a kernel of  wisdom to help process this tragedy.  I invite you to re-read it too at: thegalacticgogo.com

It’s impossible not to see a link between Ghost Ship and Chiron in Pisces. Old warehouses are a natural attractor for young, resourceful creatives everywhere in the world. Ghost Ship will rise again somewhere else.

The question is how can we support DIY creative exploration in a way that avoids our youth having to pay the ultimate price?  Sanitizing arts spaces or experiences will not work, but after the grief the collective will have an opportunity to come together with ideas and efforts that support rather than further isolate our emerging creatives.

May those who lost their lives rest in peace and may their friends and loved ones make sure their deaths were not in vain.
